Winter Has Arrived in Colorado

Colorado’s Loveland Ski Area is the first ski resort to open this year with its earliest opening date in 40 years.  Loveland opened last Wednesday, October 7, 2009, with an 18-inch base.  Arapahoe Basin followed shortly after with their earliest opening day ever on Friday, October 9, 2009.

Early season snows have seen first tracks all over the West.  Check out these amazing shots of the first runs of the year at Snowbird Ski Resort here.

Still enjoying the lovely fall weather, I drove up to Independence pass outside of Aspen yesterday to try to get my stoke on for winter.  Here are some views atop the Continental Divide.  Bring it on!
